Further compounding the issue is that blacksmithing and jewelers often compete with the engineers for the same limited mineral resources.

A simple quest allows a character to get his fishing past the 225 skill level.

World of Warcraft Horde and Alliance players must seek out Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh and complete the artisan fishing quest before they can raise the skill past 225 . If the character who wants to learn artisan has 225 fishing skill and is at least level 40, Nat Pagle will give the angler a quest that involves catching a series of fish in different zones in the game.

Once a character catches the required fish, artisan fishing candidates should return to Nat Pagle and hand in the fish.

Completing a simple quest allows players to get a cooking skill of 226-300. Cooking, like the other gathering trade skills in World of Warcraft, requires a character with a skill of 225 or more to complete a quest to raise it.

The goblin butcher at the inn in Gadgetzan, Dirge Quikcleave, is the quest giver. A character who meets the prerequisites to learn the artisan cooking skill level will be given the quest and asked to collect the following items.

Spellfire tailoring allows a character access to tailoring patterns that may not be learned in any other way.

Unlike trade skill specializations that were introduced before the release of the Burning Crusade, the quest Spellfire tailoring quest is the same for both Horde and Alliance characters. A character obtains the "Becoming a Spellfire Tailor" quest by speaking to Gidge Spellweaver in the Outlands city of Shattratch.

The Guardian X mode (trial courtesy of Artix Entertainment) was exhaustively explored by one 13-year-old boy. Before this, he had been playing in free mode for approximately a month. When interviewed in person after this trial, he was asked if becoming a Guardian would be worth the fee.
